Madrel Tekar, a 46 year old broad shouldered, handsome and statuesque Cardassian man of good upbringing, fell upon hard times during the early days of the Dominion 'occupation' of Cardassia Prime and covertly became a member of a resistance cell whilst continuing to lecture at University, he is a pacifist and peaceful man at heart.

He joined the military at a young age as a first class Strategist but eventually resigned from service to pursue an interest in the Arts and Literature and lectured at the University of Cardassia Prime. His family was cruelly murdered by the Dominion's first strike of that great Cardassian city of culture and Arts, Lakarian City, yet he rarely speaks of it. Though a born intellectual and a charmer, he is stoic and slightly secretive in nature due to the many losses of both himself and the Cardassian people during the War.

Madrel may sometimes have a tendency to appear arrogant at first, though he is naturally cautious of those he does not know or trust. However, his loyalty is unwavering when gained.
Essentially an artist and a diplomat, he played a part in the reformation of order of what was once the Detapa Council and was sent as the official Governmental Liason Officer to the newly reopened Empok Nor.

That posting lasted only a few months until he was reposted to Gamma Alpha, a small but vitally important outpost on the Gamma Quadrant side of the Bajoran Wormhole.
